Outer Wilds — not to be confused with The Outer Worlds — is a highly acclaimed sci-fi sandbox from Annapurna Interactive and Mobius Digital. Presenting players with a mysterious star system you can freely explore, a tricky time loop means you only get about 20 minutes before you reset to your starting point. Through countless loops, you'll slowly piece together what's going on. It's a super clever game that's worth a try, and soon you'll be able to check it out on PS5 as well as PS4.
Just announced during Annapurna's showcase, a native current-gen port is on the way, due for release on 15th September 2022. While the technical details are unknown at this point, we do know that those who own the game on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the new version at no extra cost. Presumably it'll run at 4K resolution but will hopefully improve its performance as well — we'll need to wait and see how it goes.
Anyway, are you interested in playing Outer Wilds on PS5? If you have it already, will you check it out again on the newer hardware? Stargaze in the comments section below.

I assume the Version thats included in PS Plus Extra cant be Upgraded again?
@IonMagi I imagine you would have to have bought it, yeah.
I was thinking about finally getting round to playing this on my PS4 sometime soon... Looks like I'm putting that back on the backburner for a couple months. Happy days!
hopefully that version will make its way to ps plus extra too
Really hoping for 60fps on this one. This game awesome and a higher frame rate would go a long way with me
Hmm I wonder if the PS5 version will have a seperate trophy list.
This will give me a good reason to try this out again. Couldn't get into it the first time I tried. Flying around felt so clunky and the visuals were kind of unappealing.
My favourite Indy game of all time. Been holding off on another play through so I forget it a little. Plus I've not played Echoes yet. Hopefully the trophies move over as I'd definitely want to try for the plat this time. Hopefully they priorities frame rate/pacing, input lag over resolution with the upgrade.
A real contender for my favourite game of all time.
